Scott Sozio

Scott Sozio is the Owner and Director of Operations at Cutting Edge Homes and Renovations, bringing more than 33 years of hands-on construction experience into a family-owned business built on legacy, trust, and craftsmanship.

Scott began his career in construction working in the field, gaining practical knowledge from the ground up before advancing into supervisory and leadership roles. His approach to building was shaped early by his father, Anthony Sozio, a respected commercial contractor in Upstate New York. Working alongside his father instilled in Scott a deep respect for hard work, accountability, and doing things the right way—values that continue to define how he operates today.

Now, Scott has carried that legacy forward by co-founding Cutting Edge Homes and Renovations and building the company alongside his son. Together, they lead the business with a shared commitment to integrity, transparency, and quality, offering clients a truly family-driven construction experience. This father-and-son leadership structure allows for direct involvement in every project and fosters long-term relationships built on trust.



At Cutting Edge Homes and Renovations, Scott oversees operations across custom new home construction, residential renovations, roofing, and pool construction. He holds a Florida State Certified General Contractor license, a Florida State Certified Pool Contractor license, and a Florida State Certified Roofing Contractor license, enabling the company to self-perform and manage multiple phases of construction under one roof. This integrated model reduces fragmentation, improves accountability, and gives clients a single point of leadership from planning through completion.

Scott is known for his practical problem-solving ability, strong understanding of building methods, and hands-on coordination with project teams and local municipalities. His leadership ensures projects are executed efficiently, compliantly, and with close attention to detail.

Outside of work, Scott values time with his family and takes pride in building a business that reflects the same principles he learned from his father—and now passes on to his son. When not on the jobsite, he enjoys the Southwest Florida lifestyle, spending time on the water or on the golf course.

Phillip Sozio

Phillip Sozio is a Co-Owner and Vice President of Cutting Edge Homes and Renovations, representing the next generation of leadership in a family-owned construction company built on experience, integrity, and hands-on expertise.

Phillip was raised in the construction industry and has benefited from an uncommon depth of mentorship on both sides of his family. On his paternal side, he learned foundational principles from his grandfather, Anthony “Tony” Sozio—known to him as “Poppy”—a successful commercial contractor in Upstate New York whose work ethic, discipline, and standards continue to influence the family’s approach to construction. Under the guidance of his father, Scott Sozio, Phillip has carried those lessons forward into the daily operations of Cutting Edge Homes and Renovations.

On his maternal side, Phillip gained additional hands-on experience working alongside his grandfather, David J. Hayes, a locally licensed General Contractor in Cape Coral, Florida. From a young age, Phillip worked in the field with his grandfather, learning practical jobsite execution, problem-solving, and the realities of construction at the ground level. This dual exposure has given Phillip a well-rounded perspective—blending large-scale conceptual understanding with real-world field application.

At just 22 years old, Phillip is actively involved in all aspects of the business, from jobsite operations to project coordination. His hands-on approach allows him to confront challenges directly and develop solutions in real time, building confidence and competence across every phase of construction.

Phillip is certified in Wind Mitigation and Four-Point Inspections, providing valuable expertise in property evaluations critical to Southwest Florida construction and insurance requirements. He is currently studying to obtain his Florida State Roofing Contractor license, continuing the family tradition of disciplined licensing and professional growth.

Driven, eager to learn, and deeply committed to mastering his craft, Phillip views every project as an opportunity to expand his knowledge. With guidance from both sides of his family and a strong desire to absorb as much experience as possible, he is building a foundation to carry the family legacy forward for generations to come.
